Privacy policy

This site is operated by Perkins Family Partners, LLC, trading as USA Tree, of 20651 US-441, Mount Dora, FL 32757. We are a small family business and we treat your details the way we would want ours treated: we collect what an order needs, we do not sell it, and we do not build a profile of you.
What we collect
When you place an order
Your name, email address, and phone number if you give us one. For delivery or shipping we also need the address the plants are going to. We keep a record of what you bought and what you paid.
When you browse
A cookie holding a random identifier for your shopping cart, so the cart survives if you close the tab. It contains no personal information, only a random number that points at a cart in our database. A second cookie protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Both are strictly necessary for the site to work, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and which pages were requested. This is used to keep the site running and to diagnose faults.
If you ask to hear from us
Only your email address, and only if you enter it yourself.
Card details
We never see your card number. Payment is taken on a page hosted by Square, our payment processor, and your card details go directly to them without passing through this site. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits, nothing more. Square is certified to the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
Who else sees your information
Only the companies that make an order work, and only the part each one needs:
- Square processes the payment and receives your name, email and billing address.
- EasyPost prices the shipping. When you enter a delivery address at checkout, that address is sent to EasyPost so carriers can quote a real rate for it.
- Resend sends your order confirmation, and so receives your email address and the contents of that email.
- FedEx or USPS, whichever you choose, receives the delivery address so it can carry the box.
- Microsoft Azure hosts the site and the database.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. We will disclose it if the law requires us to, which for a nursery most realistically means an agricultural inspection record.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and business records require, which in Florida is several years. Cart cookies expire after 30 days. If you ask us to remove your details and we are not required to keep them, we will.
Your choices
Email info@usatree.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form and no process. A person will read it and reply.
You can refuse cookies in your browser, but the cart will not work without the two described above, because there is nowhere to keep your basket.
Children
This shop is meant for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be explained rather than slipped in.
