Ruby Red Grapefruit

Citrus x paradisi 'Ruby Red'

Pink-fleshed, sweeter and far less bitter than a white grapefruit, and a heavy cropper once it has some age on it. Fruit ripens from late autumn and hangs on the tree improving for months.

Growing Ruby Red Grapefruit in Central Florida

Full sun and space; this makes the largest tree of any citrus here. It is slow to come into bearing, so expect three or four years before a worthwhile crop. Leave the fruit on the tree well past the point it looks ripe, because grapefruit sweetens late.
